Tom Butler played for the Swans from 2006-2012, playing his part in the Swans rise through the leagues. In our exclusive interview with him in the 50th issue of SoS fanzine, released over the weekend, we asked him for his thoughts on the current situation at the club.
Like the majority of Swans fans, our former winger looks upon this regime with disdain. “It looks like the American’s only care about money. The decision’s being made don’t make sense to me.”
Butler found the Dan James story particularly baffling and said of the situation, ” if we keep him and he plays 40 games next season then his value is going to carry on going up so why sell him in the last window for much less?
We also touched on the resignation of chairman Huw Jenkins who he said he “got on well with” during his time in south Wales but also added “you do have to question why he sold to these guys in the first place.
The former Sunderland trainee’s message for the fans was “to be patient” and to “stick with the manager and the team as they need the fans to be the twelfth man.
