Top 20 Goals At The Liberty – No 14

In the fanzine this term we have been counting down the top 20 goals at the Liberty to mark a decade at our current home. Over the next few weeks we will countdown one per day accompanied with a video of the goal where possible. We’re at 14 in the countdown now and it’s a left footed Scouser with today’s entry but not the one you’re thinking of!

14. Kevin McLeod v Bristol City, September 2005

Scouser McLeod flattered to deceive for most of his Swans career but at the start of the first Liberty campaign he was on fire – netting seven goals by the start of September. The pick of his cluster of strikes came in the 7-1 mauling of Bristol City which is still the Swans record win at the Stadium. McLeod picked up the 40 yards out from goal dribbling past one opposing player for fun and then unleashing an unstoppable shot across goalkeeper Steve Phillips to score the fourth goal of a memorable afternoon in south Wales. Just a shame it never got better than this for the left winger.

If you skip to one minute fifteen on the video you can see the strike for yourself
