Top 20 Goals at the Liberty – No 17

In the fanzine this term we have been counting down the top 20 goals at the Liberty to mark a decade at our current home. Over the next few weeks we will countdown one per day accompanied with a video of the goal where possible. At seventeen is a striker with a particularly special chant.

17. Luke Moore vs. Manchester City, March 2012

Undoubtedly one of the most famous goals on this list, it’s not every day a newly promoted side beats the team that goes on to become champions is it? Luke Moore’s Swansea career wasn’t the success we hoped it would be but this moment that lives long in the memory has to be considered the best during his two and a half years in south Wales. He entered the fray in the 79th minute as a replacement for Danny Graham and just four minutes later met Wayne Routledge’s cross with a bullet header to secure a memorable 1-0 win over Roberto Mancini’s side. “He’s got the power to score, he’s indestructible…
