Top 20 Goals at The Liberty – No 18

In the fanzine this term we have been counting down the top 20 goals at the Liberty to mark a decade at our current home. Over the next few weeks we will countdown one per day accompanied with a video of the striker where possible. Today’s goal scorer was another player who the Jack Army took to their hearts.

18. Andy Robinson vs. Leeds, December 2007

Rather fittingly at 18 it’s Robbo who scored many free kicks during his stay in south Wales and this one against his future employers is right up there with the best of them. The Swans started this top of the table clash well and won a free kick on the edge of the box just ten minutes into the game. The Scouser stepped up and beautifully placed the ball in the goalkeepers’ top right hand corner to send the majority of the capacity crowd wild. This clash which would eventually end 3-2 would live long in the memory as has that stunning free kick that opened the scoring. His best goal for us though was away from the Liberty – a stunning volley from a corner at Brentford on Boxing Day 2005.
