In the fanzine this term we have been counting down the top 20 goals at the Liberty to mark a decade at our current home. Over the next few weeks we will countdown one per day accompanied with a video of the scorer where possible. in the Champions League Play-Off place is a man is a veteran of over 150 appearances for the club.
4. Wayne Routledge v West Brom, August 2014
He may only have one entry in our top 20 but when it’s a goal this good one is more than enough! A cross into the box was headed clear by Craig Dawson and after one bounce the ball fell to Routledge on the edge of the area. From there he hit a stunning acrobatic volley into the bottom right hand corner to double our head and maintain our 100% start to the season. It’s undoubtedly his best goal for the club and I’d be surprised if he’s scored a better one in his entire career.
