In the fanzine this term we have been counting down the top 20 goals at the Liberty to mark a decade at our current home. Over the next few weeks we will countdown one per day accompanied with a video of the scorer where possible. At 8 is one of the many Spaniards to feature for the club over the last few years.
8. Gorka Pintado v Nottingham Forest, August 2008
“The Bull” flattered to deceive for most of his Swansea City career however he started like a house on fire and was even dubbed a £7 million pound man by El Gaffer Roberto Martinez. On his home debut Pintado came on as a sub against Forest and secured the points late on as he met Mark Gower’s cross with the deftest of flicks off his right boot which sailed into thetop corner away from Paul Smith between the sticks. He would go onto score another eight goals during his Swansea City career but none were as good as that one.
