In the fanzine this term we have been counting down the top 20 goals at the Liberty to mark a decade at our current home. Over the next few weeks we will countdown one per day accompanied with a video of the goal where possible. At 12 it’s that prolific man from Trinidad with his second in this countdown
12. Jason Scotland v Bristol Rovers, March 2008
The Swans being live on Sky didn’t occur very often in those days but Jason Scotland marked the occasion with a sublime strike late on to secure Swansea a 2-2 draw having trailed 0-2 at the break. The Trinidad and Tobago international was on the corner of the box before a turn of pace beat his opponents and he then lashed an unstoppable shot with his left foot into the roof of the net to send the home fans wild. Scotland wasn’t appreciated by the Jack Army faithful half as much as he should have been during his time here but he’s still scored more goals at the Liberty than anyone else. Can’t have been that bad can he?
