Top 20 Goals At The Liberty – No 9

In the fanzine this term we have been counting down the top 20 goals at the Liberty to mark a decade at our current home. Over the next few weeks we will countdown one per day accompanied with a video of the striker where possible. Today’s entry is a memorable strike from a midfield maestro.

9. Ferrie Bodde v Watford, November 2008

The Dutch maestro’s career may have been curtailed by injury but before that ghastly evening at home to Birmingham, Bodde gave us some great moments in his brief Swans career. Watford had just taken the lead when the Dutchman received the ball on the halfway line. He took a few touches before taking an outrageous 35 yard shot that moved all over the place before finally ending up in the centre of the net to even things up straightaway. This of course wasn’t his best strike for the club, that accolade goes to his 45 yarder v Preston but as it was away from home we can’t include that one in this list.

The video above shows this strike on 2 minutes and 20 seconds
